    The Bobby Doyle 5-Mile Summer Classic, presented by the Bobby Doyle Foundation, is a non-profit road race which supports The Bobby Doyle Scholarships and The Bobby Doyle Youth Running Fund, which are both devoted to enhancing and supporting high school and youth running in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.      

    Unlike other races that are put on to benefit a race director and a promoter, 100% of the proceeds from The Bobby Doyle Summer Classic go directly to the local youth running community.

 

• Cash Prizes ($400, $250, $150, $100, $50) to the top 5 men and women overall.
• Course Bonus Prize:  $500 to the male/female each setting a new course record.
• “Tech” shirts to the first 700 entrants.
• Medals to the first 700 finishers.
  
• Refreshments to all race participants.
• Post-race raffle for all race participants.
  

• High School Team Competition
  Prizes awarded to the top High School Teams (Boys/Girls); scoring based on the fastest time of the top three members.

• Special Award to the High School Teams (Boys and Girls) with the most number of finishers.  2010 graduates are eligible for these awards.

 
Mathew Kiplagat and Mary Cullen, winners of the 2009 Bobby Doyle Summer Classic. Cullen was able to defend her title, while Kiplagat smashed the men's course record by 50 seconds.
