Elite Racers


Elite Men 
 Brian Doyle Brian, soon to be a junior at Bishop Hendricken HS, is the 16-year-old son of Bobby Doyle.  In 2008 Brian was 4th in the 3000m at the RI State Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  At the 2008 Nike Outdoor National Championships, Brian ran 15:33 for the 5000m and was the first sophomore across the finish line.  He now carries the Doyle running torch.

Bill Rodgers
Bill Rodgers is one of the greatest distance runners of all time.  Bill has won both the Boston Marathon and the New York City Marathon four times.  He represented the United States of America at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal.  He held the American record for the marathon twice during his career.  His personal record for the marathon is 2:09:27

 
 


Matt Pelletier

Matt has been tearing up the roads of Rhode Island for the past five or so years,  winning many local races.  He is a three-time winner of the Vermont City Marathon.  He recently competed in the 2008 Olympic Marathon Trials in NYC's Central Park, where he finished 19th in 2:17:17.  Pelletier is on his way to becoming one of RI's marathon greats!

Tim O'Loughlin
Tim, soon to be a senior at Westerly HS, was the 2007 Rhode Island 3000m Outdoor State Champion. He placed second in the 2007 Cross Country State Championships. This past February Tim participated in the International Road Race in Armagh, Ireland, placing 3rd in the Junior A Men's category. Personal records: 5K: 15:21 3000m: 8:42 

 


Elite Women


Mary Cullen

Mary was a 6 time All-American while at Providence College.  Coached by the famous Ray Treacy, Mary was the 2006 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Champion in the 5000m. She has also competed for Ireland in the European and World Track and Field Championships.  Mary's personal records:  5000m:15:17     10,000m: 32:21

 


Marie Davenport

Marie is a former Providence College Friar, who was also coached by Ray Treacy.  While at Providence she was All-American an incredible 10 times. She was the NCAA Indoor Track 5000m Champion in 1996. She is a two-time Olympian, competing for Ireland in 1996 and in 2004. Her personal records include 15:09 for 5000m and 31:28 for 10,000m.
