    Throughout his life,Bobby Doyle was always involved in his community.  To honor his memory and to allow him to continue to give back to the community, Bobby's family and close friends, with the help of the Rhode Island Track and Field Coaches Association, announce the creation of  The Bobby Doyle 5-Mile Summer Classic.

    The Bobby Doyle 5-Mile Summer Classic is a non-profit road race devoted to enhancing and supporting high school and youth running in Rhode Island.    Two graduating Rhode Island high school runners from the class of 2009 will be awarded The Bobby Doyle Memorial Scholarship.  The race will also help to create the Bobby Doyle Cardiac Awareness Endowment Fund.  This fund will be used to educate and raise awareness about the prevention of heart disease through a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise program.  Once the fund is established the monies will support lectures, screenings, and other public awareness activities around the state of Rhode Island.
